YunRay Chung is a Taiwanese artist and sustainable designer who is currently based in New York City.

    Graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a Master of Fine Art in Fashion Design, YunRay often uses second-hand garments deconstruction, performances, installation and films to tell the narratives of his vision. He uses his work to speak to social issues, as well as human emotions and experiences.

    His graduate thesis “NEW AMERICANA” was in the exhibition “15 Runaways” in May 2019, walked in NYFW 2020, was selected as one of the finalists in BIAAF Fashion Design Competition in 2020, and got featured in the Hue Magazine, NoKill Magazine, etc. His recent work, “Laundry Service” was awarded a residency with Nobody’s Fashion Week at Flux Factory in 2020. In 2021, YunRay was chosen as a recipient of the City Artist Corps Grant for his performance piece “Farewell to Myself”, which debuted at Local Project in September and reperformed with NYsoundCircuit in December. In 2023, YunRay received the "Queens Arts Fund Grant" for his proposed performance piece "Re-birthing."
